There are now more than 350 breweries in New York state.
According to NewYorkUpstate.com, breweries were a big deal in 2017.
The site says the surge in the number of New York state breweries that started in 2012, continued in 2017. They say there are now more than 350 breweries in New York.
In 2017 alone, almost 40 breweries opened from the Hudson Valley to the Adirondacks, along the Southern Tier and through the Mohawk Valley, Central New York, the Finger Lakes and Western New York.
Most of the breweries are small, and many are “farm” breweries. According to the New York State Brewers Association, in order to receive a Farm Brewery license in New York State, the beer must be made primarily from locally grown farm products.
