It’s our favorite time of the year!

As the crisp air starts to weave its magic, and the leaves put on their fiery display, the Finger Lakes region comes alive with a spirited celebration that brings together two of our favorite things: craft beverages and community camaraderie. That’s right, Oktoberfest is just around the corner!

Celebrate the Craft

Oktoberfest is a famous annual beer festival and folk fair that takes place in Munich, Germany and is one of the largest and most well-known beer festivals in the world. It originated in October 12, 1810, when Munich’s citizens celebrated the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese. The event’s success led to its repetition, laying the foundation for Oktoberfest. While its origins included horse races, the festival shifted its focus over time to beer, food, and Bavarian culture.

Today, Oktoberfest features beer from Munich’s traditional breweries, authentic cuisine, and lively music in large beer tents on the festival grounds, drawing worldwide tourists seeking the festival’s unique atmosphere and camaraderie. This event is a symbol of German traditions and has inspired similar celebrations globally.

At the heart of Oktoberfest lies the essence of local businesses and the unique flavors they bring to the table, quite literally. The Finger Lakes area is dotted with charming craft breweries, wineries, and distilleries that take pride in their artistry, their commitment to quality, and their passion for showcasing the region’s bounty. By embracing Oktoberfest in the Finger Lakes, you’re doing more than just having a good time; you’re becoming a vital thread in the fabric of our community. You’re supporting the dreams of small business owners who have chosen to call this picturesque region home and celebrating the dedication and hard work of the local artisans who pour their heart and soul into every drop.

As you prepare to toast to Oktoberfest, remember that you’re not just raising a glass; you’re raising the spirits of a community that thrives on your support. Let’s come together, celebrate with zest, and keep the spirit of local craft beverages alive in the Finger Lakes. Prost to a season of joy, flavor, and unity!
